Another similar example is in the New Testament in the King James Bible. Jesus Christ said God will replace "the HusbandMen" who will not allow the Vineyard (the wives - See: Psalms 128:3) to give their (the Vineyard's) fruit to the true Owner (God).
(Matthew 21:33 KJV) Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
(Matthew 21:34 KJV) And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
(Matthew 21:35 KJV) And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
(Matthew 21:36 KJV) Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
(Matthew 21:37 KJV) But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
(Matthew 21:38 KJV) But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
(Matthew 21:39 KJV) And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
(Matthew 21:40 KJV) When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
(Matthew 21:41 KJV) They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
(Psalms 128:3 KJV) Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
Exodus 2: 16-21 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock. 17 And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. 18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day? 19 And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock. 20 And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread. 21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
When you do somebody a favor, they should at least say thank you. The above story is about another man with great understanding. Not only that he gave bread to Moses, he gave one of his daughters to Moses to wife.
Nabal was simply a wicked selfish rich man who thought the world revolved around him. He got what he deserved by insulting someone who asked him for some food. When people ask us for something, it is either we give or not but not to insult anyone. Great lesson Wayne.
