Pastor Elder Howard W. Smith, Sr. The Church of God at Williamsburg Website: http://thechurchofgodatwilliamsburg.org May God Bless You Church, "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?" (St. Matthew 5:13) Today's message Dear Ones, is centered around being a Parent. Relating to this often throughout the sermon today. If you as a parent lost your power to influence your child/children, in the righteousness of God, then what good are you as a parent? We as parents are given a great task and that is to train up our children in the way in which they should go, not the way that they want to go, but the way in which they should go. And that Dear Ones is a great responsibility. Can I get an Amen??? We are to be lights in our home,...... on our jobs........ in the mall shopping, ......everywhere that we go......we are to let out lights so shine before those that we come in contact with. Nothing in self, but that which is pleasing in the sight of God, who is the Father of us all. Amen??? Amen!!! Now if our lights were to go out because of sin in our lives, than how important are we to the Kingdom of Heaven??? We are good for nothing, because if the world around us cannot see Christ in us, then our lives are useless to He who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. How are we doing Church???? We are thanking God for Bro. Anthony and Sister Tara Smith, for bringing their precious little daughter, Carrigan Michelle and presenting her to God today. As the mothers of yesterday did, dedicating their children to the Lord for His service.(I Samuel 1:9-28) It is always a joy, I believe, to any Pastor of like precious faith, to hear of and witness such a wonderful event. So we are asking for your prayers for them as they take on the task and joy of raising little Carrigan Michelle Smith, in the admonition of the Lord. Amen??? Amen!!! On Friday,..... the 7th, Dear Ones, marked the 69th year for Deacon Okie Smith, being on the farm; he also celebrated his 90th, Birthday on August the 31st, 2012. Please remember him in your prayers as well that God may continue to pour out His love upon him, blessing him with health and strength to carry on. Working the farm for years until illness struck, forcing him to retire at the ripe old age of 86. Many retire at 30, 40, 50, 60 and some go as far as 65..........but this man, our father and Deacon worked up until the illness forced him to stay at home. What a testament to others??? I believe that if the illness had not forced him out, he would still be there milking the cows, climbing up on the tractor and cutting feed for his cows. Because he promised the Elder Lightfoot Solomon Michaux, our Church Founder, that he would do so. Now that he is forced to remain at home and visit the doctors, often........we thank God for his sons, Peter, Joel, Mark, Keith, Paul and a few others who have picked up the charge and are carrying on the work that will one day benefit the people of God. Amen??? Amen!!! Love to you all, The Pastor
