In his gospel, John (see John 1:13) introduces the phrase “born of God”. The idea becomes even more clear in John’s first letter, later in the New Testament. In his writing, John sometimes uses a phrase to mean two concepts. We are the product of God, and He also begets us, making Him our Father. Because we are born of God, we do not need to fear the second coming. Our faith in Christ is fundamentally a “one another religion”, which means God has worked on me and now I exist for the glory of God and in his name serve others.
