Funny at the time but dated now.

I'd like to see this done in winter where they use the caskets to toboggan down the hill into the graveyard.

One of my favorite comedian, I never tire of watching him!

A bunch of bigots seem to be laughing - the best you can do?
-
Is that the best an atheist can do?

He was a great commedian, and my father used to watch this show late at night on PBS.

Fucking amazing! never seen this, and he never ever used a "bad" word... but maaaan... so funny! and as everyone else says in the comments... the black cat analogy was pretty much spot on...

only the irish can do religion so well.

Back when people had a sense of humour and didn't get so easily offended. Being able to laugh and joke about everything and even have a laugh at yourself. We have gone backwards in society, such a shame.

Many, many years ago I was dating a young American lass who was studying in London. She had never heard of Dave Allen so, for a laugh, I took her to see him live. Admittedly he was slightly more risqué in his live performance and occasionally used the 'F' word but he was a complete showman and really knew how to play an audience. My date thought him hilarious, even when he cracked a few jokes at her expense (she had a particularly loud laugh). Anyway, when Allen reappeared for his encore he had with him a bottle of champagne and two glasses. He poured both glasses, then walked down into the audience and handed one to my date. She was overjoyed and squealed with delight. I was just thrilled to be so close to the great man. What a performance, what an evening and what a gentleman! His like will probably not be seen again.

I remember this guy from the 70s. He had some great material and an excellent delivery.

I've always liked Dave Allen - but for an atheist he didn't half talk about religion / God an awful lot.
Mind you, just your typical new age atheist then :-p
