This is a lesson of the Bible story found in Luke 5. The first teaching point in the message is: He we see that first Jesus taught the multitudes, and then He performed the miracle. Many people today want the miracle, but they do not want to “waste their time” hearing the word of God. But, hearing the word of God is often an essential step in receiving a miracle. Almost everyone agrees that faith is often necessary to receiving a miracle. Over and over again, Jesus says to those who are healed, “You faith has made you whole.” The Bible says, “Now faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17. Thus, for faith to come, we must hear the word of God. Many years ago, there was a famous healing evangelist in the US who used to require people who wanted prayer to attend a certain number of meetings and hear the word of God before he would pray for them. It was not just a ploy to fill seats at his crusade. Instead, it was step taken to insure that the people the evangelist prayed for had the faith to receive their healing. We have seen that those who come and sit through a service where the word of God is preached often receive their miracles quicker than those who do not hear the word of God. Thus, if we are looking for a miracle, an essential step is hearing the word of God. And I think hearing the Word of God includes reading the Word of God. Because when you read the word, your heart hears it. And if you can, read it out loud. Then even your ears will hear. To hear the rest, watch the video...
