Newbie here: So, how does having Big Faith not spawn a generation of lazy bums who believe "god will provide"? Semi-rhetorical; I'll keep listening and I'm sure I'll come across the answer.

SEVEN REASONS PEOPLE BELIEVE IN GOD, AND DISTRUST EVOLUTION -- How to think like a child so that your faith may be stronger
1. BIOLOGICAL ESSENTIALISM: Increase belief that the characteristics of man, and other life, are that way because it is essential (absolutely necessary, birds have wings, because they must have wings). Avoid and disregard any thoughts that creatures evolved to their current state by accidental changes over a long period of time. This is how children around 2.5 years of age think. Maintaining a child's belief will help avoid evolutionary beliefs.
2. TELEOLOGICAL THINKING: This is how people come to believe everything exists for a purpose. Children as old as 4-5 hold these beliefs. This sort of thinking helps the young to survive. As an adult, people may use reason and logic to convince you that not everything exists for a purpose and instead things exists without a purpose. Avoid this and keep thinking like a 4-5 year old child -- this will help keep your beliefs strong.
3. OVERACTIVE AGENCY DETECTION: Keep thinking about and reinforcing your beliefs and then try to use what you have been taught about the creator to see the creator's influence in as much that exists around you as you can, even if it is just a burnt piece of toast. Although you may see influence falsely some percentage of the time, this is how a child may perceive its surroundings when taught long and hard about cause and effects. Thinking this way, as a child might, can increase the strength of your beliefs.
4. DUALISM: It is easy and natural for a child's mind to understand that the brain, and what is taught about the soul (or self) as two separate things. Later in life, people may makes statements saying the mind and self are actually one, and that the self or soul does not exist without the chemical reactions of the mind. Disregard this thinking, and instead think as a child would as this will aid in keeping your belief strong in the soul.
5. INABILITY TO COMPREHEND VAST TIME SCALES: It is not natural or intuitive for a child to be able to think in terms of long time scales, as life on earth is short and there is no need for daily survival to think in these terms. Thinking abstractly is not natural to a child and has to be learned. Avoid learning how to think abstractly, especially about vast time scales. Doing so will keep you thinking like a child and will not give you any potentially nagging reasons to believe in evolutionary thinking.
6. GROUP MORALITY AND TRIBALISM: A child can learn morality and how to think from a close group of authoritative figures such as parents and priests and other people with the same or similar views. Surrounding the child with a tribe that holds the same beliefs and teaches the same morality is very helpful in developing strong beliefs in the child. As an adult it is helpful to remain cloistered within a closed group that holds with the same morality and beliefs, and does not stray towards other tribes. This is how a child's beliefs can become strong, and this is how an adult can maintain strong beliefs, by keeping themselves in a tight group that is not exposed to different beliefs or ways of thinking, like a child surrounded by the like-minded.
7. FEAR AND THE NEED FOR CERTAINTY: Fear is a powerful motivator for children, and children seek comfort in knowing for certain how the world works around them and how the world will treat them in every circumstance. As an adult, maintain your levels of fear in unrelenting eternal torment and suffering to motivate yourself to not do or think things not promoted by your tight knit tribe. Also, if you have any doubts of the world, or have any questions for which you do not have answers, it is helpful to keep thinking no further on these difficult issues or to say "I do not know", instead you can always fall back and say the creator did it. This is how a child would do it, and this is how an adult can maintain their strong beliefs.
From the speaker Andy Stanley:
1. Practical Teaching: Inculcating yourself, instilling knowledge or values into yourself by repetition. In regards to reading the bible, only read inspirational sections and not every page of the bible at "one" sitting. Reading every page of the bible causes many people to question their faith since there is so much in the bible that can cause the child-mind to perform mental gymnastics in order to apply to how they were taught the bible is all about. Also, make sure to read the Gospels one after the other, and not side by side, as this can also lessen the strong beliefs of an adult or child.
2. Providential relationships: A combination of Overactive Agency Detection and Tribalism and Teleological thinking. Seeing that God himself provides the believer with a bevy of like-minded people as a way to maintain strong beliefs.
3. Private Disciplines: Group Morality and Tribalism, Teleological thinking, dualistic thinking, developing fear and satisfying the need for certainty. Get someone to mark sections of the bible to read, and then read only those sections on your own. Particular passages will help strengthen many of the seven areas that aid in strong belief.
4. Personal Ministry: A great way to solidify learning is to put it into your own words in such a way that yourself and others can understand what you are trying to communicate.
5. Pivotal Circumstances: Overactive Agency Detection, dualism, teleological thinking. Find purpose and and reasons for events that happen within one's life. -
God bless everyone

do faith, hope and love altogether in man or one or two of them suffices

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.(2timothy 4:3) this kind of preaching is the fulfillment of this verse.

Well it sounds pretty good. The problem is that i am brazilian, i am trying to understand. : )
