In part one of a series out of 1 Corinthians 4:1 titled, "Getting Up When You're Knocked Down," pastor JD answers the question of how it is that we can survive and even thrive when the flesh and the world beats us up, while the devil knocks us down.

Pastor, I love your messages and love your candor. As a nurse, I can appreciate your commentary on doctors. I love a person who calls a spade a spade. You have just the right mix of diplomacy and honesty.

Pastor, with all due respect, you apparently have never met or known abusive parents who DO seek their children's destruction. Of course, they aren't Christians, but they do exist. Praise God you have never known any such people.

It makes sense that our trials increase in the last days.

Pastor, can you do some research as to why the mainstream-media is now all of a sudden trying to make lethal injection and electrocution look like an in humane method of execution, and how this could lead the U.S senate to pass a bill that makes guillotines THE method of execution. thankyou

Not all of the Calvary Chapel ministers agree with this, unfortunately. I've tried talking to Pastor Danny at CCStPeteFL, and when I tried to communicate with him I was told that he was senior pastor and he doesn't do that sort of thing. And when I questioned one of his sermons, since I felt he was way off from what the Bible actually says on the topic that he preached, I was reminded again that he was senior pastor and rebuking him wasn't done! WOW! I just couldn't believe what I was being told, because the last time I checked, ministers are human and fallible too.
However, I was very impressed with this sermon because I find the message after Jesus' own heart when He was walking with His people and teaching. I think you are dead on right and it needed to be said. I just wish the other pastors would tune into this message too (not talking about just CC pastors but ALL of them!) Thanks for the message. -

If we stay humble the fall is small and we get back up easier but if we are full of pride the fall is greater kinda like humpty dumpty. amen

the fear of the Lord is to realize that His eyes are always on us, that He is always aware of what we are doing and saying, even the thoughts and intents of our hearts are open to Him, the NSA can't compete with the information gathering ability of God.
