Tough Questions Christians Face: 2008 West Coast Conference SUBSCRIBE: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=IdeaDump www.ligonier.org The Scriptures teach that God is sovereign over all. The Scriptures also teach that man is responsible for his actions. Are the two teachings contradictory? In this session Dr. R.C. Sproul will address the perennial questions surrounding the relation between the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man. Christ has redeemed us to be a light that directs others to Him. Fulfilling this call requires us to be able to deal with the most difficult questions asked about the Christian faith. If we are unprepared for the darkness around us, it will be harder to counter it with the truth of God's Word. In this collection of messages from the 2008 West Coast Conference held in Scottsdale, Ariz., Ligon Duncan, John MacArthur, and R.C. Sproul look at six of the toughest questions Christians face. They focus on the biblical approach to issues including science, the problem of evil, divine sovereignty, human responsibility, the exclusivity of Christ, postmodernism, and the Gospel.

The more I tell people of the grace of God the more hate I see against Gods word. And in that hate you see the work of the lie. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother is in darkness even until now. Why would one call one being in the truth of Gods word as being in a cult. Why did Cain kill Abel.

I just started reading a book on prayer by R.C. Sproul. What I love about him is that he makes you think. So now I've been listening and watching his videos. I am truly blessed.

RC Sproul is boring, confusing and following a murderer: John Calvin.
-
RC> You knob!!!!

Because that God is sovereign does not mean that He controls everything, only that He rules over everything. Calvinists like all cults, use wrong definitions of words. And yes, Calvinism is a cult inside the Church and is a damnable doctrine of demons.

I believe in Jesus so if you have questions or want me to pray for anything im here.God bless you!:)

That sermon is truly a blessing from the Holy Spirit. It is really an eye-opener. I praised God for His sovereignty. It gives me the peace of mind that He is the one in control not me. If He didn't intervene through His grace and love, then there wouldn't be hope for someone as wretched as me. Since as a carnal creature, my "free" will is really bounded by my sinful nature and will never, ever choose the Holy One of Israel. Thanks RC, may the Holy Spirit continue His work through you and through other people whom He entrusted to preach to us, like John MacArthur, Paul Washer, Stephen Lawson, James White, Hugh Ross, John Lennox, Stephen Meyer, John PIper, Todd Friel, the late Walter Martin, John Ankerberg, Ray Comfort, Michael Brown (even though he is an arminian), etc. Soli Deo Gloria!

The story proves a different point. Joseph had a dream, his brothers accredit and believe the dream is valid thus giving it faith, when they act against it by selling him into slavery, which is Judas' idea btw, the others wanted to kill him. The cloak of many colors is symbolic of Christ, who is a syncretism based on many persons and gods. For Joseph to become their king, required them to acknowledge it and play their part in making it happen. If they had just laughed it off, it wouldnt have happened,

According to the NDE Howard Pittman...we were all given sovereign free will which God nor Satan will interfere with.
-
"Free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having."
- C.S. Lewis -
Amazing. Profound truth.

God's sovereignty and Man's Free Will Works hand in hand. we cannot comprehend it but God. this is the same concept of the trinity.
-
We can trust to God fully, because He knows everything about you."All things work together for the good of all believers". For the good of those who love God!
-
I have never equated God's sovereignty with his ability to micromanage.
-
the answer is simple; calvinists don't believe humans have what they call libertarian free-will

Looks like 70 muslims showed up, welcome, (thanks for the down votes)
-
These people laughing are really pissing me off.

if you just take out the word "free" then the will is easily understood. The will is freely given by God to every human being. The question is, does the will have the ability to choose God and salvation, or not, on it's own? That's the question.

GOD DOES NOT SEND PEOPLE TO HELL> WE send ourselves there. but GOD does NOT choose who goes to heaven, in the sense that he just picks out a certain group of TOTALLY DEPRAVEd PEOPLE, and the rest go to HELL.
