John 3:16 is probably the most well known Bible verse for Christians and non-Christians alike. But what does it really mean within its context? On the topic of the use of "the world", as I watch I am referencing the verses mentioned that use the word 'world' in my Greek to English lexicon and each one of them has a different suffix in the Greek. There must be different meanings for each one of them depending on the context. I don't know any Greek so I have no idea. I just found that interesting and frustrating that the English translation for all of them is just "world"...

Very eye opening teaching. I am a bit confused regarding the "there is no eternal punishment (hell)" teaching in this message... Just doing a rudimentary search on Bible verses about hell, returned a few in Revelation about the "Lake of Fire." (Which I understand is the "second death" after Christ's death/resurrection, whereas Hades/Sheol was the place where unbelievers went before Christ's victory) The Lake of Fire seems to be described as a place of eternal torture.
Revelation 20:10 ESV
"And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."
Revelation 14:11 ESV
"And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”
Now the beast, (if it was Nero Cesar) and the false prophet were human beings, as well as the worshipers of the beast and those who took the mark of the beast. If they were ordinary human souls, it seems they are now being (and will forever be) tormented in the Lake of Fire. Any thoughts on this? -
- I am not a friend of "eternal Hell" but,we have the not consuming bush.
- For the Bible it is possible,to burn and not be consumed.
- Adam did die,the very day(moment) he sinned.

The biblical teaching of eternal or everlasting hell gives us reason to praise God for the gospel that He has given to us. May we continue serving Yahweh with fear and trembling doing His will. The Messiah stated that only those who do the will of His father will granted eternal life. Believe the word of God for what it says and we should praise God for saving us from eternal punishment, and praise Him for those who obey the gospel that will receive the gift of eternal life.
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the ETERNAL fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Matthew 25:41
And these will go away into ETERNAL punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:46
in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of ETERNAL destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9
And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the ETERNAL fire. Matthew 18:8
And the smoke of their torment goes up FOREVER and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.” Revelation 14:11
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8
Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of ETERNAL fire. Jude 1:7
“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. Luke 16:19-23
And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 -
I truly hope that people will read the bible and not rely on man to interpret the word of God for them. The pastor here is teaching an error while twisting or misinterpreting God's word. The bible over and over clearly teaches an everlasting lake of fire that burns forever and torments those who are there - forever. I hope this pastor will consider teaching the whole counsel of God and repent after shown the truth. If you need scriptural proof, then please let me know.

question......Revelation talks about 1000 years that Satan is thrown in a pit and then let out, is this literal or spiritual.

You know what's funny? I'm not making this up. Somewhere about halfway in he mentions how nobody ever worries about the fallen angels -- we just think people should all be loved and saved. Well, I guess I'm just weird because I actually have prayed for the fallen angels that if there's any way that they could truly be remorseful and want to turn back to God, that even though they aren't human, I've prayed Christ's blood would be able to cover their sin if they accept Him. LOL!

If there is no hell, I'm not saying there is, but if there isn't, then what does Matthew 8:12 mean by in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth? other verses say similar things. How would there be weeping and gnashing of teeth if they are just dead?

I thought I had this verse down but I listened anyway and learned a great deal. Thanks for sharing!
