John Piper sermon: My Peace I Give To You; Let Not Your Hearts Be Troubled

iRoswell.Blogspot.com John 14:25--31, "These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.28 You heard me say to you, 'I am going away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, 31 but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here." ©2012 Desiring God Foundation. Used by Permission. Why do Calvinists, and their Doctrines of [dis]Grace, paint the loving GOD of the Bible, who does NOT wish to see ANYONE perish, but rather desires for ALL to believe and come to repentance and salvation, as an impersonal, whimsical, hateful, discriminatory, unjust, merciless, selfish, sadistic monster of mindless robots?

Jesus rebuked the Chief priests in Matthew 21:32 for their unbelief. They had heard the preaching of John the Baptist. They had seen the publicans and harlots believe on Jesus. Yet, the Bible says they repented not themselves. They refused to believe! And why would they, for they refused to repent. Had they repented (changed their mind) they would have believed. That is what Jesus said. Jesus didn't say they would have forsaken their sins or surrendered their lives to serve God if they repented. No, rather, Jesus said they would have BELIEVED on Him had they repented. Biblical repentance is turning to God by faith in Jesus Christ, so that we may receive the free gift of eternal life and forgiveness of sins. It's that simple. Jesus doesn't forgive sins, He has already paid for our sins. Hence, we simply receive God's free gift of forgiveness by faith in Christ's death on the cross for our sins, His burial and resurrection three days later. Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.” We are saved by God's imputed righteousness!!!

I have appreciated Pastor Piper, but his reference to Jesus bringing in the New World Order is anti-biblical. I cannot listen to this man anymore.

LOVE LOVE LOVE John Piper. One of my favorite ministers. A man totally immersed in the Word of God and a love for God and God's people. His sermons really resonate with my spirit. I always learn deeper meanings regarding the Word of God. God bless John Piper.
