Great stuff :)

A Hallmark of a great man of God has always been his exclusion and persecution by the established church and an initial rejection by the masses. Wesley's understanding that the Lord is continually calling a people out of every tribe and nation was pivotal to the success of this movement. The pitiful death of Beau Nash, cited here, clearly indicates that he wasn't converted by his brief introduction to Mr. Wesley. The presenter here is very respectful of Mr. Wesley and excited to share his knowledge. Very well done. Kudos to all involved with this video.

Anybody here find a big similarity between the early Methodist movement and Victor Frankl's Logotherapy? Want to have some fun? Compare them and enjoy the stories of both...

I love to visit the Bethesda orphanage (now school) built by George Whitefield right here in Savannah. I read that Whitefield was too Calvinist for the Wesleys...though their close friendship remained solid.
George's personality seems very close!! I think he was one of those people who remained friends with all sorts of people whatever their religious ideas or whatever stage in life they went through.
I am a devout Christian and stayed friends with people who came out as gay, decided to be Buddhists or Mormons or whatever...people go through many stages in growth here on earth. This is a quality in George Whitefield that enabled him to be pals with Ben Franklin and build Bethesda.
John came ashore here at a little cove...I love going there too. That's another story. -
Interesting. I didn't know much about Methodism. I can appreciate their emphasis on strict personal holiness. Something we Catholics can celebrate with the Methodists.

any individual who terms himself/herself 'Reverend' is still living by the standards of 'Religion' instead of by personal relationship to The Most High. Therefore he/she isn't truly saved of Christ like the woman 'Reverend' in this video.
-
A truly faith inspiring documentary. It's hard to remain the same after watching that. God bless

John Wesley: The Faith That Sparked the Methodist Movement – Few people have influenced the course of the church like John Wesley.
Like his reforming predecessor, Martin Luther, Wesley’s early life was marked by a moralism driven by fear of God’s judgment. And it was Luther’s writing that helped Wesley to understand the scriptural message of grace through faith. Set free from his bondage to self-righteousness Wesley set out to awaken a church that had once again traded the truth for lies and mission for self-preservation.
This documentary uses excerpts from the award-winning 2010 dramatic film, Wesley along with expert commentary and footage shot in Wesley’s England. It will take you inside the world of John Wesley and trace how this influential Christian leader changed the course of the church and the world. Approx. 50 minutes.
