Le chiese Copte di Lalibela scavate nella roccia - Parte II Gli interni, i sacerdoti, le croci Coptic rock-hewn churches in Lalibela - Part II The interiors, the priests, the crosses Ethiopia Music: Inno Copto 'Hos Erouf' The term "Coptic" is derived from qubṭ (قبط), an arabic version of the terms Kubti (bohairic coptic dialect) and Kuptaion (sahidic coptic dialect). This term derives from the greek aiguptos, Egyptian. The term greek Aiguptos, has a long history, it dates back to an ancient Mycenaean language (first form of the greek), where the term a-ku-pi-ti-jo (literally "the Egyptian") was used to say Egyptian man. The Coptic Church was founded in Egypt in the first century. The Coptic Church originates from the sermons of St. Mark, the disciple, who wrote his Gospel in the first century and introduce the Christianity in Egypt, in the Age of roman emperor Nero. Eluro through egyptian christian monks, called in Arabic qubt (Coptic), was the founder of the Egyptian monophysitic Church, called Coptic Church. The liturgy is similar to that of the Orthodox Church (Divine Liturgy), but the two liturgies have evolved differently also because the Orthodox Church was influenced by the role of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, while the Coptic Church by the role of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. The Coptic Church, in fact, did not take the decisions of the Council of Chalcedonia (451), therefore the Copts are called "protocalcedonians". Around 356 AD the bishop Frumenzio helped to convert Ethiopia to Christianity. The Christian religion in Ethiopia, in principle, found resistance from the natives, but in the VI th century gained a greater success with the arrival of the monks monphisitic called Nine Saints escaping far from persecutions. The Coptic Orthodox Church (there is also a Coptic Catholic Church linked to Rome) has its own Pope, at the moment Shenouda III, who lives in Cairo and is the 117 ° Patriarch after the preaching of St. Mark. Unlike in the Catholic Church, for the Coptic Pope there is not analogue of the papal dogma of infallibility. The Coptic language, which has several dialects including bohairic and sahidic, for writing use the Coptic alphabet, similar to the greek. The Coptic language, used in the liturgy, is the only descendant from the ancient egyptian, the language of Pharaohs.
