A complete masterpiece of a sermon on the unpleasant subject of killing our sin. I don't give that honor to many sermons, but this is a masterpiece. Everyone needs to hear this message.

what if you don't love your sin but are truly trying to stop but is failing does that make you lose salvation

I think looking back I only had a kind of intellectual assent to Sin. It took years and some painful failures in my life to finally see the utterly destructive nature of my Sinful acts. I saw up close and personal that the wages of Sin is truly death. I saw it at work in the lives of Christians and unbelievers alike. I was still rebelling against a Holy God, and certainly deep down I did not want to be Holy as He is Holy. (I Peter 1:16) I have finally got it and I have agreed with God concerning its seriousness. May we not only receive His Mercy and Forgiveness of our Sin, but desire to root it out of our lives completely. Walking in relationship with God, His power through prayer and of course always His all sufficient Grace to persevere and fight this Good fight.

On 3:25 of this video, says that we have TO DEAL with the Remaining sin?? How is that? For real? I cant find that reference in any part of the scriptures.

I'm currently struggling with sin. I want to be free. I want to be holy.
Brethren, please pray for me! I need more Jesus. -
I want to be as holy as a saved dinner can be and should I strayyfrom that may God search me out with discipline

I don't quite understand... Is he saying that if a Christian commits a sin then s/he hasn't killed her/his sinful nature on the cross of Jesus? So if s/he still needs to make war against her/his sinfulness, then s/he hasn't killed it and therefor s/he's going to hell??? I mean... I don't know anyone who's become completely sinless after their becoming a Christian. So has a Christian killed the sin or is s/he killing the sin or does s/he kill the sin everytime when s/he rejects it succesfully, but then the sin experiences a kind rebirth and it creates more temptations?

Every time I listen to a sermon by John Piper, I am immediately compelled to listen to it at least once more. I so appreciate the way he speaks of our Father with such sweetness and adoration. His love for God is infectious and I cannot get enough! Thank you for sharing this sermon!

excellent teaching

churches do not need a worship leader. Teh congregation should take part in the singing and remember that they are singing praise to an awesome God who can take away your breath and not even know He has done it! Where is the feeling of awe and fear before a holy God??

translate in spanish please, thanks.

Revelation 3:5
5 The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life.

Well God can see through lids, but that doesn't mean that He doesn't see any use in making them keep it at home (And not on the internet) I think sin on the internet is a big root problem and we need to as Christians acquire the internet.

I love Piper, God Bless him and his family.

I've only heard about John Piper from I'll Be Honest, Tim Conway, pastor of Grace Community Church. John Piper is a wonderful servant and warrior of the Kingdom of God. Thank you Jesus for this man.

Thank you buddy...I would say it would only be hard for someone to hear if they are in love with their sin. GOOD WORDS.

Anyone have a link to the other message he references? About what the root of sin is.
