What happens if you and your partner are in love and plan to get married two to three years from now; however, you can not get married now?

Thank God for religious freedom . What a blessing to have the Whole truth for food.

@47:00 Wouldn't a new Christian follow Christ and NOT willfully commit adultery by remarrying?

First, the Jews taught that only man can divorce his wife. The State of Israel and Orthodox Jews have been teaching this almost exclusively since the Torah. But, no one has asked why did they teach 'only man' can initiate the divorce. Then after you have answered that question the next two come into play. Does those reasons mean anything to us Believers today? And can we see it taught by Jesus speaking about the Law and Paul to believers. Yes! Mark's account was written to what Jesus said in private and this gospel was written to the Gentiles (they already had women divorces the Jews did not). Paul said in 1 Cor. 7:10-11 a woman can not remarry after she separates from her husband (as it was not lawful according to the Jews for a woman to put away her husband according to Scripture). And this is why the later part of that verse in 1 Cor. 7:11b does not say the man must "remain unmarried or be reconciled to his wife." the Sabbath has been replaced by the rest and we are commanded to worship on Sunday the first day of the week, anyone obeying the Ten Commandments in stone instead of the Ten Commandments in the heart is in bondage and they have gone back to what the Lord Jesus Christ delivered them from Romans 7:6-7 if anyone has knowledge let him interpret these two verses, in 11 Cor. 3:3-9 we are told to obey the Ten Commandments literally is death for it is the letter that kills and those who preach or teach these Ten Commandments are involved in the ministry of death, the Lord God who wrote the Ten Commandments with his finger found fault with the law that he had written and so he had to create a second covenant Hebrews 8:7-8 , the challenge therefore to all Sabbath keepers is to prove that the commandment to keep the Sabbath is in the New Testament for not one time are Christians commanded to keep the Sabbath day in any gospel or epistle, also when the Apostle Paul listed all sins that will keep Christians from entering the kingdom of God he never taught that breaking the Sabbath was a sin. 1 Cor. 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, Ephesians 5:3-5 although some try to stand and fight for this bondage and deception of scripture today using verses where it says Jesus and the Apostle Paul were in the synagogue on the Sabbath it does not prove that Christians should keep the Sabbath since both of these men were there to reveal the way of salvation to the lost and not to hold fellowship with them for this is a huge contradiction seeing if we teach this for theology it means all Christians must go to synagogues and not to churches and listen to the Old Testament being taught with the Ten Commandments in stone and this is not the case at all, finally hypocrisy is when you magnify the Law of God like saying today adultery is looking and lusting because the Lord Jesus magnified the law of God and teach in 1 John 3:15 murder today is hatred and then you magnify the law of God but turn around and then teach but the Sabbath is still from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset and we obey it literally, this is the spirit of error, bondage and death from carnally minded people who refuse the light of the word of God for the scripture does not teach that man shall live by every word that God wrote but by every word that God spoke. what happens when repents and get baptized after he has been married to 3 wives, which is acceptable to his traditions, e.g. an African king? Must be desert his 'last' two wives?

Seems like a washed down interpretation. You can divorce/ separate for fornication (any sexual immorality 'pornea'), but only for a period of healing and reconciliation for you are ought to forgive your spouse if he or she truly repents as Jesus forgave you your bigger sins/debt. You cannot force anyone to live with you; so, if your spouse wants to abandon and leave you, he or she can go, but you are still bonded. However, you are ought to pray for him or her to repent and come back and God is faithful and mighty to do that. If you are divorced with kids already, you cannot simply confess and continue in your sin, but to abandon it, while still taking care of your kids, even though they are the kids of adultery, and remain just as friends with you 2nd,3rd,4th,etc... 'wife'.The only instance you can remarry is when your first and only spouse, the spouse of your covenant and youth, dies. AND even then it is recommended to stay single, but if you would remarry after your spouse dies- it is not a sin.

Those histories from David and Solomon, were situations in which God dealed with them personally; Jesus did not die for them. Dont you compare with them. Jesus in the new testament let us clear what divorce and remarriage is; a adulterous relationship. Living a life of sin once you have learn the true; you may check Hebrews 10 of deliberate sin.

Divid did not suffer for his murder and adultery !! He remained in power as a king. David should have been demoted to the ranks of a street beggar , they suffer ! A king eats, wears, has whatever they want at their own discretion. David should have been punished for his sins but the word "king" and "suffer" cannot be used on the same page as a king NEVER. Suffers, peasants, homeless, the poor, the hungry....they suffer and King David should have been cast to the ranks of Job , a street peasant begging for his food !

Did not Job get re-married ? His original wife left him and after his trials he did get another wife and have children. Solomon had many wives not just one . If a man was not happy with his wife he could dismiss her and take another in the old testament. King David committ adultery and murder and he did well ! He remained a king and his name is mentioned more times in the bible than that of Jesus !!

I like Doug Batchelor's teachings but I do not completely agree with some of this one. From what I've read in the bible and many agree, is that the only time a person can remarry is after a spouse dies. Adultery may be reason for divorce but it does not say you can remarry. That's a pretty important part for Jesus to have left out if that's what he meant. Plus it is only mentioned in Matthew and Matthew was speaking to the Jews. I believe that Matthew was referring to the Jewish betrothal (engagement) period. Joseph considered "putting away" (divorcing) Mary when he found out she was pregnant. They were not married at that time but in the betrothal period. During that period people were considered to be 'married' and if you found out that your partner/spouse had been 'unclean' you could hand them a certificate of divorce so that you could both move on and marry someone else. Once the actual marriage takes place though, I believe that people are married until death parts them.
