You can put your money wherever you like; it's none of my business. Secondly, I don;t hate Pat Robertson or christianity, or christians. When did I ever say that I did? For what it's worth, I am not jealous of chrisitans, Pat Robertson's millions, and I am not gay - but I don't care in the least if you want to think of me as such. Me Robertson still bore false witness.

... whatever that is supposed to mean. You may as well say that everybody here is pagan or satanic because everyone is superstitious about something or other - pretty much everyone (and I suspect this includes even the most sincere and conscientious christians) have a lucky number or avoid walking under ladders. It's just a matter of degree, and if god will curse somebody for something like that, I'll take my chances with atheism. A god like that is IMO more like satan.

Maybe. But one had better put all religions under the same microscope.
-
I never said I hate Catholics.
-
I agree, but I don't want to let 'im off that easily :-)
-
If you insist upon making this personal, I suggest you ignore what I post. Secondly, I have yet to see a shred of evidence to back up what you or Mr Robertson are saying.
-
Now we concede that he's wrong? Maybe he's wrong about other things .... And what have I said that's hateful? I mean no offense at all.
-
Lying? I won't accuse you of that when you make historical errors. I rather suspect Pat Robertson is the fibber, but then again I don't really know if he believes what he says or not. If he doesn't, he's lying. If he does, he's mistaken, but passes himself off as an authority, which is equally dishonest IMO.

If you will look at the video, you will note that Pat Robertson said Napoleon III. That was the nephew of the one born in 1769.

I've been watching this for a while, and I am somewhat taken aback by the amount of support he's getting. People believe stuff like that. Well, I believe in some pretty weird sruff too, but I try to avoid broadcasting my more offensive opinions all over the place. To be fair, there are plenty of Xtians out there who are horrified by his outrageous comments. I feel for them.

@thetruepooka... I wish it came down to age-related dementia, but Pat Robertson has been saying stupid shit like this since I can remember. At least back to the early 80's.
-
Oh, don't worry: it happened. This is probably the worst gaffe (and the worst attempt at damage control) I have ever seen. Keep talking, Pat :-)
-
Good job at presenting the facts. I think Robertson may be starting to suffer age-related dementia as there seems to be a slight edge of crazy that goes past even what I recall from him. (Please, tell me I'm not imagining this. It would make me feel better!)

Uninformed indeed. Everyone is allowed to make a mistake, but when you are using history to explain tragic calamity, you had better at least know a little history, especially if you claim to speak with authority. Pat has proven he doesn't.

I was hoping you'd chime in on this, with regards to his historical inaccuracies. I know it's much easier to attack his delivery. But it's definitely just as important to point out how uninformed he is.
