Pastor Steve Wiechman preaching on September 2nd, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst, Texas. As We Gather From the beginning when the Lord said of Adam, "It is not good for the man to be alone," to the end when John shares his revelation of God's ultimate triumph in Jesus drawing all of God's people from all times and all places to Himself -- the life of a disciple is not meant to be lived alone! Today we take some time to live in our core value of INTENTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS -- God's gift of a few other disciples who walk this journey of faith and life with us. As we get ready to embark on our journey together through THE STORY, this gift of companionship will become vitally important. You see, our lives will always have mountaintop experiences and valleys of the shadow of death. To experience the mountaintop alone, diminishes its joy, and to enter the valley alone is to put your life at risk. You will not make it through this next year on your own! You need Jesus, and you need traveling companions, and God wants to give both to you. Keep getting ready for THE STORY journey. Keep receiving Jesus in regular worship. Now, it's time to ask, "Who's on my rope?"
