Through this eighth message in a series on prayer, we are going to learn about effective prayer. How many of you want to pray an effective prayer? I think all of us want that when we pray, we see results: we draw closer to God, we become better people, we receive whatever it is we are desiring or longing for. We will be focusing on a single key verse that will help lead us to the path of a more effective prayer life: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 So, this verse basically says, "If you want all these things that you are praying for and desiring," you need to first do two things: (1) Seek the Kingdom of God and (2) Seek His righteousness. In this message, we will discuss what it means to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness. In short, seeking the kingdom of God requires that we spend time seeking the King (through praying, reading the Bible and fellowship) as well as His will (through reading the Bible and praying accordingly). And seeking His righteousness requires that we choose to live a life according to God's plan and commands.
