In this ninth, and last part, of our series on prayer, we talk about the power in prayer. There is awesome power in prayer. I think prayer is probably our number one spiritual weapon. When used properly, it can be like an A-bomb, destroying the strongholds of satan and annihilating his every plan. The key to seeing the power of God in our lives is prayer. To see the power of God move, we must ask the Lord to move in power. We must pray for the sick to be healed. We must pray for the lame to walk, the blind to see, the deaf to hear. We must pray for multitudes to be saved, for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on all flesh. But, above all, we must spend time in prayer, seeking the face of God. I think for many of us, someone tells us a prayer request, we will pray. Or if we have a personal need, we will pray. But, how many of us just go to our room, shut the door and pray for hours, not seeking anything but God? That is what we need to do if we truly want the power of God to manifest in our lives. That is what Jesus did. When there was a need, He prayed. He prayed for those who were sick or oppressed. But Jesus not only prayed when there was a need, He also prayed when there was no need. He prayed simply for the sake of praying...meaning, He talked to God just for the sake of talking to God. We need to resolve to do the same.
