A symposium and performance organized by the Anis Makdisi Program in Literature in association with the Zaki Nassif Music Program This event focused on the legacy of Nizar Mroue, the musicologist and art and music critic, and on his oeuvres, through various testimonies that were offered by leading intellectuals, writers, poets, and critics in Lebanon. This event also included the screening of an audio-visual preview of a segment from the latest grand orchestral composition by the distinguished artist Marcel Khalife, which was recently performed at the Victoria Albert Hall in London. This event also corresponded with the presentation and brief discussion of a new book on Nizar Mroue that was composed by Karim Mroue and published in 2014 by Dar al-Farabi in Beirut, which carried the same title as the symposium.
