The resurrection....the teacher is everyday life....The Christ....within our physical journey of being human beings... worked out in everyday reality....
I love Richard.......just fantastic!!!
I'm a huge fan of Rohr- he is right on to filter things through recapitulation theory of the atonement and the personhood of Christ Jesus. He is right about the pattern of death and resurrection and what Christianity looks like when it isn't based on substitutionary atonement. He's right about a lot of things, but this notion that the Christ is an abstract that only became concrete reality when Jesus became the Christ, as though he weren't before the resurrection, is heterodox. The Theosis is there and held out before us in an archetypal manner to show us where we are headed, but the notion that Jesus became what he was not before, defies and undermines the Incarnation.
