http://seattleunity.org—Rev. Karen Lindvig offers insights into the role spiritual laws have in our lives. In particular, she focuses on how faith and love provide a crucial connection to help in envisioning and pursuing dreams, and in developing spiritual community. She uses an analogy of the electrical appliances we use in our lives which have conduits from the source of electrical power to the operation of the appliance. Faith and love are like the electrical cables that provide a necessary connection to power to make the appliance operate. Only the power to which Karen refers is not electricity but the power of God within. In addition, this sermon uses examples from the life and healing of Jesus. She also explores in considerable detail the amazing and miraculous story of musical savant Leslie Lemke, and his foster mother May Lemke. To see more about Leslie Lemke, see this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_Lemke. Also see this link to a movie about May and Leslie Lemke called The Woman Who Willed a Miracle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Woman_Who_Willed_a_Miracle. The examples Karen uses in her sermon show how members of any spiritual community can use both faith and love to bring about significant and even miraculous accomplishments in our lives. Her revealing and insightful conclusion provides a spiritual framework for dreaming community to transform our lives for the better.
