Sermon preached at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church (Sioux Falls, SD) by Pr. Benjamin Tomczak. So, as we hold this child in our hands, and receive from him once more the seal of our adoption, as we receive from him our forgiveness, in this sacrament, we say, “The time has come.” God moves our paradise from a manger to a pulpit, a font, and an altar, where God sends his Son, born of a woman, to redeem you, to adopt you, to make you his child. Until he adopts you one last time, when this God made flesh returns, not in a sacrament or preached word or a manger, but in his glory, with another division of angels and says, “The time has fully come. Come home, my sons and daughters! Come home!”
