Sermon on St John of the Ladder 2014

On this Sunday of St. John of the Ladder, I briefly introduced the spiritual (ascetical) vision of St. John, particularly as it relates to lay people. I then focused on Step 18 of the Ladder: On Insensitivity (perhaps better translated as "lack of attentiveness" or even "carelessness.") This particular vice, I suggested, is a sin we Americans might be especially prone to. I shared two of St. John's remedies for this vice.
