In these past few weeks, God has been prompting me to wait on Him. Also, to rest in Him. Also, to have His joy. What peace and freedom. It started simply by following the prompting to turn off the morning travel radio and sit in silence enjoying His presence. I now know I can wait before I have to "serve". If God is not directing by the Holy Spirit, then no fruit will come to bear - no lasting fruit. Just came upon this and it all lines up as to what God has been speaking to me. If you don't have time to hear for one hour, I have transcribed pretty much all the points for you - Double Spaced 3.5 pages, but I encourage you also, meditating on the message as it is being spoken out is a wonderful way to hear the Lord speak. Chastening - He chastens us - Legitimate v illegitimate

Struggles, Family, Ministry, Spouse.

Dealt with Derek's and Ruth's Problems First, not financial
fraud, lust or glory issues, but other issues.

Desire to help, not accuse or condemn.

Busy, little time to wait on God, will die - medical issues
need to be sorted. (Antibiotics helped, repented of pride when though would
never need medicine)

Out of Place in the Body of Christ - Head

Ephesians 1 - All things under (subjected) to Jesus, gave Jesus as the Head of the Church -
blessing.

Head over all things, not a few.

Functions of a Head - Is He the Head over every area - the
expression and determination of His will.

Ephesians 4:15-16, Speak the truth in love, grow in love,
joined, every part, growth edifies - love.

Colossians 2:18-19 - Let no one disqualify you - super
spiritual (carnal really) not let them cheat and deceive you out of your
inheritance - not holding fast to the head - lost connection with the head,
therefore headed for error, false teaching, out of line with truth of God.

Only condition of safety - Every believer has a divine
personal connection with the head.

Pastor - not your head, help you cultivate a relationship
with the head, help you find the answers. Some people are lazy ... Some leaders
despotic - not go there (don't control ...).

Be directed by Him, know what pleases him.

4 Main Functions of
the Head:

1. Receive input (communication)

2. Make decisions - What body will do

3. Initiate action (initiative)

4. Coordinate activity of other members as they take
initiative - decision and take action

Means of communication, direction, etc. is the Holy Spirit -
Relationship therefore with HS.

John 16:12-15 - Disciples not able to bear with more
information/knowledge - overwhelmed. Spirit of truth will guide you and give
you direction.

Masc/Fem/Neuter - He She It (e.g. HS - Known as He - grammar
rules broken)

Church should expect direction for future (some of it) -
otherwise disaster.

Body needs to be warned of the things to happen - right
place at the right time.

The HS - Will glorify Me. 
Anything that exalts man, is not HS - Can be spiritual, but not of the
Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:14 - For as Many as are led by the Holy Spirit,
these are the sons of God (not child, grown up son). Adulthood - lead by the Spirit,
regularly continually - are sons.

Some of us were Baptised with the HS, but one time
experience.

Freedom - 2 Cor. 3:17 - Lord (Jehovah) is the Spirit is God.
Where He is Lord, there is liberty/freedom.

Liberty - AS the HS directs; more than one way the Holy
Spirit moves, not have to dance and sing every week to have liberty.

Ephesians 2:18, 22 - Jews Gentiles, access In Jesus God dwells
in us by the Spirit. Vertical Up and down - link is the Holy Spirit.

Issue of Initiative:
Choose/Choice - We are the product of God's choice. Initiative proceeded from
God. God decided to save us - therefore we are dependent.

John 15:16 - I chose you. For apostleship. Go and bear
fruit, fruit remain, ask and receive - in His name.

Only enduring fruit proceeds out of the choice of God.
Elections, programs, religious activities - if God did not chose the
initiative, will be no permanent fruit whatever.

Ask in His name: Must proceed out of the choice of God.
God's choice.

Must realise our
total dependence of God. Charismatic movement - no longer moving but measure of
success - all came from the mercy of God. Not because of clever, spiritual, or
well educated. God chose. [Lord, thank you that I came into the Church during a
time of renewal and not death/decay]

Initiative expressed through choice.

Also choice applies for marriage - Marry the person of God's
choice, find out. Happy and successful - why - God chose. Me not intelligent.

Never dated - don't have to date.

Acts 1 - One apostle missing, Judas dropped out. Acts 1:21 -
Peter said these men accompanied us - one of these must become a witness. Was
present through the ministry and witness resurrection to time of ascension.
Joseph & Matthias. Tossed a coin. Draw straws. What mattered was God's
choice. Legitimate way to find out. Prayed, cast lots.

God choice - God's initiative - God's Head.

Church - repent of presumption and ask forgiveness.

Acts 13 - Antioch - 5 Men prophets and teachers.
Prayed/fasted. Worship/priestly - fasted. While they waited on the Lord. They
had no agenda of their own. God is not a rubber stamp.

Fast Prayed Laid Hands - Decision from God, by HS. Acts 14:4;
14 - A way for apostolic ministers to emerge 
is through prophets and teachers. Anyone who is sent forth is an apostle.
Not sent, not apostle. Not called
apostles before Church sent them out. God does not bypass the Church in
sending out the ministry.

Acts 14:26 - Sailed to Antioch - commended to the grace of
God for the work they completed and fulfilled, report back - be answerable, responsible,
for the whole job. Why, initiative proceeded from God.

1 Corinthians 2 - (Phillips) v 16 - Who has known the mind
of the Lord that they may instruct Him - no one.  But we have the mind of Christ (Amazing,
though it may seem - Phillips translation).

NOTICE: WE - NOT I.  Not given to a single individual, to the Body
by the Head - Body must find the mind of Christ, or it will go undiscovered.
Can your Church say, we have the mind of Christ?

We are filled with HS (with a few leaks) - where are those
people? How can we become those people?

WAIT. So work
oriented we work ourselves to death

1 Thessalonians
1:9-10 - Some of the earliest Christians - impact of Gospel, turned to God
from idols to SERVE and to WAIT - = totality of Christian life. Serving is not
all of it. We serve, we wait.

Necessity of waiting on God. Isaiah 64:4 - Since ancient times, no one has seen, heard, perceived. God who acts on behalf of those who wait on
Him. 

Church not go further - until learns to wait on God. 

Only the sins we
confess are forgiven.  Confess to God,
confess to one another that you may be healed. 
The fruit of people waiting on God. Barrier to revival - unconfessed
sin.

Wesley journal - a strong society grew who met weekly to
confess sins to one another.

Isaiah 59:1-2 - His arm and His ear still function -
Iniquities separated you from God Your sins have hidden you from His face.

Access to God when
blood of Jesus cleanses, not cleanse if we don't confess. If we continually walk in the light we have
fellowship with one another and blood continually
cleanses us. Have to come to the light to be cleanses, not in the dark.

Leaders need take
time to wait on God.

Yohannes Farsuis(?) (Head of International Intercessors) a
Dane who lives in German and speaks in English - Aussies tough crowd, breakthrough
coming.

September 1992 - Most
unique gathering he ever attended - After this experience, I will never be the
same again. Noah Bell (Intercessors for Australia and Tom Hannas (?) Leader
YWAM, called pastors - "Leaders Looking Unto Jesus" (3 Week
Conference) awakening may touch worldwide body of Christ. Hard rough hearts -
not been part of anything like this.  Following
themes:

1. Sitting at His
Feet - Be like Mary, not Martha, who was pleased to serve at her own
initiative.

2. Learn to rest.  Sit silently in His presence - hard to do,
let God take the initiative - Just wait until the spirit blows with gentle wind
- not our activity.

3. Transformed glory
to glory (2 Cor 3:18) ... Coming
under Lordship of Jesus. Measure ourselves to own shortcoming in light of
Christ. Not new knowledge / information required, but be trasnformed into
likeness of His Son.

4. Not use analysis - Look at situation through His face. Some
try discern where Church stands, looking at horizontal and outward appearance,
which is incorrect.  

5. Must Behold His
face, understand His (Christ's) burdens.

6. Falling in love
with Jesus - Intimacy. How far we have been used to being away from Christ.
Enter bridal chamber and make him central focus in all we do. They yielded more
- experienced joy and worship - revelled in His love. No ambition to be effective, just be with Him.

Out of the realm of Theory - then experience.

Take time with God - we don't give God much time - Repent.

Which day do you wait upon the Lord? No agenda. Read Bible,
worship - no set pattern.

Ministry Team for prayer at end of the message. If barrier,
not hearing God - things come between Lord and you. Confess them.

Physical Healing - not God's primary ... are your sins a
burden (like David said) - healing (will come).
