Someone sent me an amazing expansion of the Beatitudes (from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount). There have been innumerable (and many famous) interpretations, expansions, and dramatizations of the Gospels, such as The Robe, Ben Hur, The Spear, The Great Fisherman, The Silver Chalice, many TV series, many movies, and even Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ (the highest grossing R-rated film in history) drew from multiple sources. However, this interpretation/expansion/fleshing out of the Beatitudes is the best I have heard yet and it is remarkable. I hope you enjoy it! Please share this with anyone you think might enjoy this or might find some degree of benefit or inspiration from it. The below list shows the sections of this video. You can click on the timestamps below to jump to whichever section/theme/beatitude you want to: • Introduction (0:00) • Beginning of Jesus’ Speech (About free will, let us view God’s Law not from a point of view of a threat but from the point of view of love, “how glad I will be if I do that”, let us look at the way of salvation through the joy of the saints, etc.) (1:06) • How happy I will be if I am poor in spirit (2:54) • How happy I will be if I am gentle (8:47) • How happy I will be if I mourn without rebelling (11:56) • How happy I will be if I hunger and thirst for justice (14:24) • How happy I will be if I am merciful (16:42) • How happy I will be if I am pure in heart (18:40) • How happy I will be if I am peaceful in spirit (20:26) • How happy I will be if I am persecuted in the cause of right (21:39) • How happy I will be if I am accused and abused falsely (23:35) • Conclusion (24:50)
