Your perspective of the story is good yes we indeed need to look unto God more then boast about our righteousness

It was not God who died on the cross, it was His Son, Jesus Christ. There is a fine distinction in the God Head; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Someday I will go to heaven and have a long talk with Job ,

God allowed what happened to Job Because the devil had a legal right to attack him. We cannot assume because the sins of our past are forgiven and covered by the blood of Jesus that every single sin we hide from God and living in direct rebellion toward Him/His will for our lives is covered by the blood as well. Unconfessed, willful sin is still sin even when you're a Christian. This was Job's dilemma: God had called him to be a priest of his region, yet was content to be the priest over his household. You will take this to note when you consider how passionately he made sacrifices on behalf of his kids, yet they died even under his roof when he was trying to hard to cover their sins ... all the while, you will note that they did not make sacrifices for their own sins. In other words, he was trying to be God.
You will notice that in the end, when his friends, who wrongfully accused him up and down and side to side were brought before God for judgment, the Lord did not accuse Job, but accused them of accusing Job. Job was certainly a man God loved and greatly appreciated. Job's friends, however, in their condemnation of their friend, Job, they sinned before God and had to make a big sacrifice to atone for their sins toward Job! Get that.
You notice, in the end, that it was Job who acted as priest during that time of atonement. God successfully humbled and put into a Job a deeper desire and understanding of his proper position in life as a priest of his region.

Keep in mind that the devil, Satan, wanted to test Job (satan is the accuser of the brethren, you know) and see if Job would fail God. He does the same thing to each of us, as well.
Now re-read of book of Job and it will jump out at you now that you know the whole story. God bless you all!

This is one of the best explanations of Job i have ever heard.

Why does he not curse God when all is take, yet he still stands by God. How does one not have a relationship with him yet God said himself he is righteous in his eyes. You cannot say it's all about me, I do good, and I have a lot of blessings yet God says he is righteous?? I think you are missing the main main point..

You should realize how to separate the fake prosperity gospel from the real prosperity gospel. You make it out that God doesn't want his children rich and to have nice things. You're throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Any loving father wants the best for his children. That's a truth and a fact. The problem lies with "the means" and "intentions". The prosperity gospel of today is so out of touch that it's no different than the money changers during the 1st century. Does God want his children wealthy, rich, happy, healthy, youthful, married, good relationships, families, free of labor and work, immortal? Without a doubt; life is meaningless without those things, but the way in which "churches" teach that message is entirely wrong. So, instead of throwing out the prosperity gospel (which is something Jesus taught by the way), throw out the interpretation of the prosperity gospel being taught today. Stop allowing and stop accepting that the real prosperity gospel (all of the things i mentioned) is somehow defined by the handful of "ministers" teaching today.
