Humor is hard to translate, as in today's reading from John 3:1-17, where Jesus uses a pun (!) to set up an unexpected and creative conversation about grace. "The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit walk into a bar... and a hospital... and a classroom... and a war zone... and a supermarket... and a meth lab..."
