This movie takes tremendous liberties when it comes to context, but it is important to note that it is a movie adaptation of a PLAY. Changing scenes takes time, and in the context of a play, it is easier and less time consuming to simply move events and dialogue into the scene at hand. It is helpful to remember that Jesus was teaching ALL the time, healing diseases ALL the time, casting out demons ALL the time. If you don't let the somewhat apocryphal nature of this telling bother you too much, this movie is well worth watching. It is one of the very few Jesus movies in the public domain, so it is truly a gift to the world.
