Martyn Lloyd Jones once said, “One of the most obvious feature of the life of the Christian church today is, alas, its superficiality and glibness.” This may or may not be true of the church you attend, but it does seem to be evident in the broader Christian community. Lloyd Jones goes on to argue that the Sermon on the Mount, properly understood, can wake us from our slumber and shake us from our worldliness, but what is the Sermon on the Mount? Is it simply a roadmap for social improvement? Is it merely a moral code by which we should attempt to live, or does it communicate something deeper and far more significant? Was Jesus merely filling the role of a good teacher, or was He also revealing something to us about Himself? Join Doug Eaton and Joe Young on the Apologetic.com Radio Show as they look at the significance of the Sermon on the Mount, discuss its meaning, and guard against false interpretations.
