The True Meaning Of James 2 - ''Faith Without Works Is Dead'' - Baptist Sermon Excerpt, King James
El contenido de la fe, para escuchar,
James chapter 2 is a passage which is widely misunderstood by men all over the world, when in fact it's very simple to see what it teaches once we let go of pre conceived ideas. When we try to understand the Bible, we have to understand that it's not the word of men, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost as the Bible says. We have to compare spiritual things with spiritual, we need to compare Scripture and Scripture, and let the Bible interpret itself. We see that over and over again in numerous verses the Bible teaches that salvation is by grace through faith alone and that it's not of works, it's got nothing to do with how we live: (John 1:12, John 3:15, John 3:16, John 3:18, John 3:36, John 5:24,John 6:40, John 6:47, John 8:24, John 11:25-26, Romans 3:24, Romans 4:4-6, Romans 6:23,Romans 10:9-10,13, Romans 11:6, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Galatians 2:16, Galatians 3:26, Acts 16:30-31, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) ''But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.'' - Romans 4:5 ''Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;'' Titus 3:5 In this video Pastor Steven L Anderson of Tempe Arizona preaches the true meaning of James chapter 2. Salvation is by grace truth faith with works following after faith
-
Abraham obeyed God. His obedience showed his faith to be valid. Abraham did not offer up his son in front of a lot of people, so his offering had no impact before the public view.
Abraham was justified before God when he offered up his son, it was at that time on that day that his faith was perfected...and he only had faith toward and in God not in man. Likewise Rahab was also justified by her works when she received the spies - the messengers of God.
@ chron 20:7 is the first time that declares that Abraham was God's friend - forever. This was after he was dead for some time.
There are works of God and works of men. If God injitiates a work, then that work is necessary in any matter. Paul is specifically telling us in Galatiuans and Romans that it is not by works of Law, that we are justified.
But there are works that God does which must be outworked in us in order for God's work to be accomplished in us.
One of those works is our believing in Jesus Christ. Jesus said this is the work of God that you belive in the one He has sent. John 6:29
Paul also says " But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you." Rom 6:17
That form of doctrine was nothing less than the gospel, and they believed it at the time they were sinners, adn there was an immediate translation from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God, because of their obedience to that doctrine.
Sinners in Rome heard the gospel preacehed they obeyed and they became God's children. It is that simple. Believing and obeying are intertwined and cannot be separated.
Both Paul and Peter declare by the Spirit that those who oibey not the gsopel of our Llord Jesus Christ are in great peril
2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Believing? Yes. But also obeying - according to faith in Jesus Christ and WHAT HE HAS SAID, and done.. These are the works of God. -
Guys like John Arthur Lavoie, from Tucson, AZ, go around and claim a works based salvation-he is truly a devil. This piece of shit is also founder of NoShowJoe-a piece of shit snitch webpage he hopes will earn him billions in the future-LOSER!!!

Right on, Steven Anderson!

works Will alsof be judged by God, so that God will be just against man. god say you will be judged (most justify trail). so it is false to say that works will only be judged by man. good work without faith is also not accepted by God. One of the first person in Islam who goes to hell is one with the most good work on earth, because he didn't do his good work for god but for his own pride. and it is arrogant to believe good work will bring you to haven it is with God's mercy man go to haven it is not earned as your salary. god has given you live he owns you nothing.

But how does this relate to pastor Anderson's rejection of homosexuals? If someone lives in a homosexual relationship and says homosexual relationships are not sin and that he's a Christian, shouldn't pastor Anderson just believe him and treat him as his brother?
-
Written in James 2 is just one case of a Christian leader giving exhortation and lecture to fellow Christians [ perhaps newly converts ] to do away with favoritism , to do charitable works for others , to help the needy & poor Christians , and to show their faith that saved them by their good works .

The Protestant belief that faith alone saves us is false. Faith is necessary, but works is necessary too. James 2:20 is clear---faith without works is dead. And not just this verse---the whole book of James has this as a major theme. And Jesus says in the gospels that those who do not feed the hungry and visit the sick and imprisoned will lose their souls.
Faith is necessary, but it must be a living faith, a faith full of hood works.
Many souls now in Hell had faith but neglected works----read the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. -
The example of Abraham shows that justification is not a one-time event, but an unfolding ongoing process. That's why Scripture says that Abraham was justified at different times of his long life.

Must love the sound of his own voice and being in front of people. Could very easily just get to the point - if there is one.

ya boss, let's just continue living like the world and continue living like our old selves. It's called EVIDENCE that you're saved!!!! Jesus said "IF YOU LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS" John 14:15 Why wouldn't someone want to pursue Holiness and to please Him?!?!!!
The guy who "keeps on sinning" is evident that he doesn't not know God! "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not known the truth:" 1 John 1:6
you CLEARLY DO NOT KNOW GOD AND DO NOT KNOW THE SCRIPTURES!!!!! Read the Bible for yourselves!! It's clear that you want to just CONTINUE living how you want to, making God's precious Grace into a License! Romans 6:1 "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? may it never be!"
Quit following this Unlearned, False Teacher, HERETIC STEVE ANDERSON!!!
And all his little cult followers and minions said....AMEN!!!
Absolutely Ridiculous, it's not that hard to put ALL SCRIPTURES TOGETHER and see what everything says...I can pluck one verse on one topic and say look this is what you have to do, but you have to take ALL verses on that subject and put it all together! Interpret Scriptures with Scripture! -
anderson is a false teacher! he denies the blood of Christ! he tells people to call upon the name of Jesus Christ to get saved! he does not mention the blood! we are saved by the blood of Christ! not by His name!
-
Let the work-salvation group know that those who followed Eph. 2:8,9 for their salvation really do good works after they got saved , because aside from having natural impulse & desire , they also are taught and advised to do good works .

◄ John 10:1 ►
"Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. -
Luke 17:7-10
7 “Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’? 8 Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’? 9 Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? 10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’” -
Matthew 25:31-46
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” -
Excellent teaching. Well done. I would have liked to have heard the rest of the sermon, however.

Wow, how was Abraham showing his faith to man ??? When God himself told him to do this..?? You know nothing about Abraham.. he was called a friend of God.. jesus says if you are my friend you will do whatsoever I say... AND sense when is obeying God's word classifies as "work"... you need to study your bible... "the deeds of the law" is when the israelites sinned they will go and kill a bull, they had to skin the animal.. thats work... circumcision is a work of the law .. you put in time to do this for a pay... how much time do I put in having no God's before me??? How much do I get paid ??? When do I clock in? When do I clock out ?... sense when is NOT sleeping with your wife classifies as works ??? You twist the scriptures up to make it mean what it doesn't. Message me of the "100 scriptures that prove that your saved by faith and not works" and I'll tell you what they mean.

The real message or meaning of James 2 can only be understood by the saved or true Christians but never by the unsaved such as Roman Catholics , Mormons , fake witnesses , ADD , SDA , INK & other cults .

John 14:10 "... I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works." Here you see, the speaking of the word is works. A great example of "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him...", the man hung on the cross with Jesus who believed on him, asking that he remember him. Jesus said to the man, "Today you will be with me in paradise."
