I don't think anger is a command. That's very strange. In fact, Paul actually does say- "Christians DON'T be angry." God is also Judging all the time but humans doing that is a sin. Colossians 3:8 is also a command. "8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips." I would say if you put these two verses together, it leans heavily on "If you are angry, don't linger in it which will cause you to sin, don't let the sun go down on it and let the devil have a foothold. IN OTHER WORDS: get rid of it." And where is that part in Hebrews does it say that? "I say unto you, know how much anger you have and be aware of it at all times." WHAT??? I think anger will defile you BECAUSE it's there and has remained not because you just don't know how much is there. . I love Tim but his theology on anger is odd and based upon one verse. American Christians loooooove their anger. We pet it and coddle it and treat it like it's a fruit of the spirit. IT'S NOT. It is the fruit of something horrible offending us. A reaction. An injury to the soul. Something to be healed.

Excellent teaching. Many times we as Christians big should be some kind of gentle soft spoken weak push over, but as the man said there is a good anger so we can possess it we don't have to get him our selves over again motions that may arise which are lawful for us to have. Jesus said my yoke is easy and my burden is light. I'm coming to learn we have lots of liberty in Jesus that sometimes the church will call sinful. I'm not saying sin that grace may abound, but a lot of things we do and condemn our selves over are not sin

@ 3:50. Tim meant Mark 3, not Mark 5. Never the less, I really like Tim Keller!

Bless you for your honesty and thank the Lord you recognize your problem. Ask the Lord to show you the root(s) of it. The root(s) is the key!
